About Kristine
Kristine Tom holds an M.A. in Psychology (Mind, Brain and Behavior) from San Francisco State University and has been teaching yoga full time since 2008. She has spent over a decade teaching on the Stanford University campus — at Stanford Hospital, the Stanford Neuroscience Health Center, and for the Health Improvement Program — working with faculty, staff, healthcare professionals, and students. Her teaching integrates yoga therapy, somatic psychology, neuroscience, and mindfulness-based stress reduction.
Her research at SFSU’s Personality and Well-Being Lab explored how meditation and body awareness practices may support anxiety management and nervous system regulation — work that continues to inform her private client sessions and workshop curriculum. She has independently facilitated Yoga & Psychology workshops since 2017, attended by Stanford faculty, staff, and researchers.
She continues to engage her curiosity and kinesthetic knowledge by training in other forms of movement including; barefoot running, swimming, TRX, strength conditioning, power lifting, and boxing.

“My work is rooted in the belief that yoga, practiced with curiosity and scientific grounding, can genuinely reshape how we experience stress, pain, and connection — not as a fitness practice, but as a path toward resilience and self-understanding.”
